We put HarbourVest's key investment messages right in front of their target investor audience with three pieces of coverage on the same page of the FT.
The challenge:
We had to make sure that HVPE was not overlooked by the UK's vital private equity investor community because of its Euronext Amsterdam listing and US-focused shareholder base. We had to communicate accurately and effectively an innovative but complex liquidity plan devised by the company which involved a listing on the Specialist Fund Market in London and a placing of shares with institutional investors.
Our response:
Due to the complexity of the liquidity plan we placed a strong emphasis on preparatory work, devising messaging and supporting materials, briefing spokespeople and co-ordinating activity between HVPE, its brokers and lawyers. Armed with a clear and strong story, we briefed our excellent media and investor contacts on launch day. We also exploited external panel events to highlight the plan and give the key messages a far wider reach. We delivered strong media pick-up as a result, and close monitoring of the story as it appeared online allowed us to correct errors before they rippled out across the internet.
The results:
Its profile is now recognised by key opinion formers, having gained three separate pieces of coverage on the same page of the FT, including the influential Lombard column, as well as numerous mentions in all key publications. Our work ensured the liquidity plan was accurately described across national and trade press. In addition, HVPE's annual results released shortly after received favourable coverage as a result of our earlier work.
