Mobbie Nazir joins to launch digital marketing agency

The Fishburn Hedges Group has recruited Mobbie Nazir as Managing Partner to launch its new digital marketing agency.

Nazir, with 14 years’ experience in digital marketing, has been recruited from her current role as Head of Planning for MRM Worldwide, where she is responsible for strategy across all accounts held by the 250-strong agency. These include Intel, Mastercard, BSkyB and Microsoft.

Nazir will partner Chris Reed to launch the agency. Reed, who currently heads up Fishburn Hedges’ digital and social media team, has 15 years’ experience in PR and integrated communications.

Fishburn Hedges Group Chief Executive, Neil Hedges commented: “The digital environment has created new opportunities and challenges for our clients. We have big growth plans for our new agency, which will go beyond what each of our existing businesses is currently managing, digitally speaking.

Commenting on her appointment, Mobbie said: “The demands on digital agencies are changing. I have seen a distinct shift in the past few years in the role which digital plays from being all about delivering a message to instead generating a conversation.

“It’s a space in which digital agencies with a PR mindset have a strong contribution to make, but nobody has really cracked it. So I was very excited to be approached by the FH Group for this role, as for me this is the future for digital communications - delivering best-in-class digital communications with best-in-class PR.”

The new team will be open for business from November 17th, with a formal launch planned for early in 2009.

Notes on Mobbie Nazir

- Mobbie is a veteran of digital marketing, having worked in the industry for the last 14 years across a number of the UK ’s leading digital agencies.

- Prior to her current role as Head of Planning at MRM Worldwide, Mobbie was Business Director at Wunderman Interactive, where she was responsible for managing and growing their largest account, Ford, across EMEA.

- Mobbie’s digital pedigree is rounded off by 3 years at Digitas, leading engagements on clients such as GSK, Ericsson and American Express.

Notes on Chris Reed

- Chris is a Director of Fishburn Hedges, joining the agency in 2001. He has been using digital communications techniques for clients since the late 1990s and first started blogging in 2000.

- Chris’ most recent social media work includes leading on strategy and/or campaign delivery for clients including Shell, BT, TV Licensing and HMRC. He established FH’s online reputation management and reporting systems for clients.

- Chris is a frequent guest on national media to discuss digital communications most recently on BBC Radio 4’s The World Tonight (21 October), and on Sky News’ Sky.com programme.
